The name iPhone 6SE would make sense, given that most of the rumours point to Apple’s next iPhone being an iterative update rather than a major design overhaul.

It’s official: Apple’s next special event is set for 10 a.m. PT Sept. 7. It is usually hard to create with a phone camera, suggesting that the iPhone 7 could feature an upgraded camera lens. There is talk of an improved processor and Global Positioning System chip being introduced with the Apple’s new wearable device that will likely feature improved waterproofing and new swim tracking functions.

Although it hasn’t confirmed the details, Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 7 at the San Francisco launch.

According to invites sent to the press, the company will be holding its biggest event of the year early next month.

Apple has finally announced the launch of the latest version of its iPhone series; the iPhone 7. Another item to keep an eye on will be if battery life has been improved or if it will remain largely in line with what we’ve seen from past iPhone models. Unlike previous reports, this event will not be the showcase for the new MacBook Pro notebooks, however, Apple is indeed working on the new Macbook Air and MacBook Pro models. Last September, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus took center stage. If you are looking to watch it online or livestream it, you can go right to the Apple site and see it for yourself.

Respected technology leaker Evan Blass claimed the iPhone 7 would be released for purchase on the week of September 12th, but the company has not indicated a date.
