Phantasy Star Online 2 Headed To PlayStation 4 In 2016

Phantasy Online 2 has been announced for the PlayStation 4. This will be rolled out to PC and PlayStation Vita editions at a later date. But an IP block makes it tricky for westerners to get stuck in – and and the South East Asia version lags behind the Japanese version in terms of updates.

During a Nico Nico livestream it has proven to said that Phantasy Star Online 2 will surely be going to the PS4. Sega also confirmed a new expansion, “Reborn: Episode 4”, which is also launching sometime in 2016.

As the title suggests, “Phantasy Star Online 2” is the sequel to the original online game that came out for the Sega Dreamcast many years ago. During the Tokyo Game Show convention next month (Sept. 19-20), Phantasy Star Online 2 will be available to play on the convention floor.

Earlier this year, Sega of America announced that it was taking the company in a new direction, focusing on smartphone and PC games (PSO2 counts, right?).
