Trump to Give Major Speech on Illegal Immigration

Trump said according to a report from the Washington Post.

One unsurprising thing these gyrations make clear is that Trump hasn’t given much thought to the details of immigration policy, despite the fact that it’s the centerpiece of his presidential campaign.

Pence, Conway and other surrogates said the main tenets of Trump’s immigration plan still will include building a wall along the southern US border and making Mexico pay for it, no path to legalization or citizenship for people here illegally and stronger border enforcement. The day after, campaign manager Conway said his position on deportations was “to be determined”.

He has continually stated he will construct a wall between the U.S. and Mexico and even suggested the creation of “deportation squads” to tackle the issue of undocumented immigrants in the country. “In this task, we will err on the side of protecting the American people – we will use immigration law to prevent crimes, and will not wait until some innocent American has been harmed or killed before taking action”.

A new national poll from Morning Consult, taken from August 24th to 26th, shows Trump has closed the gap on Clinton from six percent to less than three percent.

While Trump could succeed as president as a “big picture, set the tone, drive the direction and move the government” kind of leader, Fleischer said that would require him to surround himself with a knowledgeable and capable staff. And this is not a simple question, ” said Reince Priebus, the Republican National Committee chairman whos had a hard relationship with Trump. He noted that Hillary Clinton received the same invitation but hasn’t responded yet. She wants to put Barack Obama’s immigration plan on steroids.

Trump’s upcoming speech will be his fifth visit to the Phoenix metropolitan area since launching his campaign a year ago.

“You have a psychopath running for president”, he said. “But the reality remains that Trump’s agenda echoes the extreme right’s will – one that is fueling a risky movement of hatred across the country”.

“There could certainly be a softening because we’re not looking to hurt people”, Trump said in an interview with Fox News last week, going back on his pledge of a deportation force to solve the problem of 11 million people being in the United States illegally.

The nominee and Indiana GOP governor also sought to distinguish Trump’s position from Clinton’s. His position is going to be fair. It’s going to be tough. But there will be no change in the principle here that Donald Trump wants to make it clear to the American people that, while Hillary Clinton is committed to open borders, and amnesty, and executive amnesty, and more of the same that has really harmed our economy, and, frankly, as he said, with regard to unsafe individuals in this country, has cost American lives.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump linked illegal immigration and employment Saturday, pledging to start deporting offenders as soon as he is sworn in should he become the White House’s next occupant. Last week, Trump had said he was “softening” on his plan to deport all 11 million illegal immigrants. But who Trump considers a criminal also remained unclear Sunday.
