Previous year only saw the iPhone 6S released. Major Mobile-chip makers like Skyworks, Qorvo, and Qualcomm could use the release of the new device next year as an opportunity to rebound from a poor performance in stocks. Leaks also claimed Apple will go for Bluetooth powered headphones.

“The iPhone 7 Plus will come with dual cameras and there are no external design changes for both the phones as they will look like the 6S”, said the source quoted above.
Besides a bigger camera, the loss of a headphone jack, and a few other b-list features like waterproofing and more color options, the rumors portray a phone that is largely the same as its predecessor.
At the Apple launch event in San Francisco today (Sept 7), speculators are expecting to see Apple’s latest innovation – the iPhone 7 – revealed. Analyst reports from KGI and Credit Suisse have indicated the all-glass iPhone with OLED displays will come only in 2017 with the iPhone 8.
There have also been reports that wired headphones could be made available that connect through the phone’s Lighting port, now used for battery charging.
And while this message is certainly exciting for Apple fanboys, it’s worth knowing that this doesn’t necessarily mean that sales of the iPhone 7 will begin later today.
The new Apple Watch 2 is expected to make an appearance at the event as well. To facilitate users accustomed to wired headphones, Apple could roll out an adaptor that plugs into a port.
Update 12/08: Bloomberg reports that Apple will be holding an event on 7 September to introduce its new iPhone range to the world. The reason that is reported for the same is that Apple uses their own HTTP Live Streaming technology. Yet a post on Reddit seems to demonstrate that Apple had recorded the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus on its site for a brief time under “Accessories”.
“In particular, the timing would be ideal for apple to leverage its Beats acquisition and deliver new headphones – bundling voice-based services from Siri with an apple Music subscription offering”.

Speculation regarding an apple Watch 2 was fueled in part by the fact that the original hardware has not been updated since it debuted in April of a year ago.
