Mark Sanchez to sign with the Dallas Cowboys

Lynch, the Broncos’ first-round draft pick, had some good moments and one very bad one while playing the entire game in the Broncos’ 38-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in the teams’ preseason finale.

The Cowboys visited with Austin Davis, who also isn’t represented by Dunn, last Wednesday and hoped he would sign on to be Prescott’s backup in Romo’s absence.

The Broncos picked Sanchez up as veteran insurance but appear ready to go with the kids.

A person with knowledge of the agreement told The Associated Press on Saturday that Sanchez had agreed to a one-year contract that could be worth $2.5 million with incentives. But Sanchez struggled in the preseason and was ultimately beat out by Siemian.

Hillman led the team in rushing last season, but played only sparingly in the Super Bowl when C.J. Anderson ran for 90 yards and Denver’s only offensive TD.

The Broncos save $3.5 million with the move and no longer owe a conditional seventh-round draft pick to the Eagles, who agreed to trade Sanchez to Denver in early March.

Sanchez was traded to Denver from Philadelphia during the offseason and he seemed to be a lock for the starting job at quarterback with Peyton Manning joining retirement.

The Broncos played their final preseason game against the Cardinals last night and did have some players that showed promise. And one of the biggest questions is whether or not they believe prized rookie quarterback Paxton Lynch has advanced far enough on the learning curve to be the team’s No. 2 quarterback behind Trevor Siemian.

We know about the injury that happened to Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater just over 24 hours ago and how it shook up the quarterback depth chart for the purple.

Preseason matters: Running back Kapri Bibbs, who spent much of the past two seasons on the Broncos’ practice squad, faced an uphill climb to make the roster when training camp opened. The Denver offense didn’t even score a touchdown until the fourth quarter of that game and the defense did most (if not all) of the work.

Sanchez, a first-round pick of the New York Jets in 2009, has thrown for 15,126 yards with 86 touchdowns and 84 interceptions over his career.

Cardinals: Arizona coach Bruce Arians said this week there were 12 players competing for four remaining spots on the 53-man roster.
