“He just a. football coach”.

Believing there was enough there to worry for Ryan’s safety, the New Orleans Police Department contacted the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Department, which patrols near the Saints’ facility in Metairie.
The voicemail turned out to be would-be criminals detailing how they planned to rob Ryan, according to the New Orleans Advocate.
“He just a. football coach”.
“The Advocate reported authorities eventually linked two men – Jockquaren “Jock” Van Norman and Larry “Alz” Quinn” – to the plot, which was part of a broader string of high-end armed robberies in 2015.
The investigating officers were still able to use the information gleaned from the ill-considered voicemail to trace the number back to the pair, who were involved in “a string of high-profile robberies at Uptown bars and restaurants past year”, the Advocate reported.
The woman, who was not named, left her phone at her office over the weekend, and when she returned she had 11 missed calls and a voicemail from the same number. Defensive coordinator of the Saints. “He don’t have not bodyguards … in front of his house”.
Days later, a police vehicle was spotted parked outside Ryan’s house.
Records show that police jailed Van Norman on November 13, three days before Ryan was sacked by the Saints following a 33-point loss in Washington. A police officer was then stationed outside Ryan’s house after learning of the plot, which also allegedly involved holding up Ryan, though a grand jury declined to indict the two men on that count.
Each awaits trial on the charges spelled out in last month’s indictment.
Ryan, of course, is now a defensive assistant in Buffalo with the Bills, working alongside his brother Rex once again.
