Seattle police pulled over a speeding motorist, only to find that he had a pretty good reason for blowing through lights – his wife was in labor.

When Seattle police pulled over a speeding auto running red lights on Martin Luther King Way early Sunday morning, the driver jumped out of the vehicle and shouted his wife was in labor.

Just moments after the traffic stop, the woman could be heard shouting that she was having a baby.

“Oh my God! The baby’s arriving out”, she let it be known.

“The couple’s baby was determined to beat medics to the scene”, police said, adding that the officers witnessed the “miracle of childbirth”.

Audio of the birth, including the baby’s first cries, was captured by the officers, as was video footage of the new father thanking each of the assisting officers with a handshake and a hug. However, with the help of the mother and Officer Reynolds, the child’s airway was cleared and began to breath again.

Medics arrived shortly after and transported the mom and baby girl to a nearby hospital. “We are so grateful”, according to police.

They left a note for the officers who helped them, writing,”You have helped deliver a precious gift”.

They were soon joined by three other officers as the couple's baby girl was born
