Nintendo NX giveaway launched before console is even revealed
The NX is now scheduled to release next March, but no one really knows anything about the console officially, as Nintendo has been predictably tight-lipped ever since the console was announced.

For the rest of us mere mortals, Nintendo is now keeping us in the dark on NX.
The ESL Go4Splatoon tournament will consist of a six-month season, which will end in March, and a grand final.
Nintendo has announced that starting this Sunday, it’s going to host Splatoon tournaments with ESL.
The winning team from the weekly cup will each receive an item of Splatoon clothing signed by members of the development team (the press release does not make it clear if winners each week will receive clothing or just the first so we’re seeking confirmation).
The Japanese gaming giant has teamed up with ESL, the Electronic Sports League, for a surprise Nintendo NX giveaway. The mystery console’s launch is expected to take place sometime in March of next year as well, so winners will be receiving their prizes around the same time as regular consumers. I’d also hazard a guess that a Splatoon game may be one of the surprise launch titles for the NX.
While Nintendo hasn’t officially revealed the NX just yet, there have been plenty of patent leaks recently, painting a pretty solid picture of what the console will be.

In early 2015, Nintendo confirmed that it had a new console in the works that was being developed under the codename “NX”.
