With Hall, others sidelined, Redskins wrap up training camp

Robert Griffin III has gone from the one of the most popular and sought-after quarterbacks in the game to one of the most confusing and least promising in just two years. He has battled injuries, ineffectiveness and loads of rumors that his head coach, Jay Gruden, isn’t the biggest fan of his. “I see a good football player”.

“It’s probably the first training camp I’ve actually came in and wanted to work”, Hall said with a smile.

“I’m not going there”, McCloughan said. “But at the end of the day when you put your helmet on your shoulder pads and your trousers, your cleats and you get to go out there and run around on the field, it’s still that same game that you played as a kid”. Per their annual Richmond tradition, their last day was dedicated to the dozens of volunteer ambassadors that log countless hours each year to help make training camp at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center a success. He returned in time to play in last Thursday’s preseason opener at Cleveland. “We have a depth chart … that means pretty much nothing”.

Washington cornerback DeAngelo Hall “left Sunday’s practice after spraining a toe on his left foot”, according to Mike Jones of the Washington Post, but is expected to be okay. And, the team’s receiving corps is highly talented, featuring Garcon, speedy DeSean Jackson, Andre Roberts and exciting rookie Jamison Crowder, who is on track to return in Week 3 after suffering a minor hamstring injury. “So, from his basic performance, just critiquing Robert, it was not even close to being good enough to what we expect from that quarterback position”.

“That’s the one thing you hate to have happen, but every team goes through it”, Gruden said. Allen said, repeating a reporter’s question.
