Gov. Hutchinson looking at Planned Parenthood defunding
He told reporters he was “very troubled” by the videos.

The state had paid more than $287,000 in reimbursements to the organization for such services provided to Medicaid patients in the last budget year, according to the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.
Carson, who has been vocal about his pro-life beliefs amidst the current Planned Parenthood controversy, responded to the accusation by explaining that his role in the research was not studying the fetal tissue.
Planned Parenthood has denied that it has broken any laws and said that it donates the tissue for medical research. CMS told state officials it could withhold federally funding from the states if it deems they are out of line with federal law.
Hutchinson ordered the state’s Department of Human Services to terminate “any and all existing contracts” with Planned Parenthood. “By restricting which provider a woman could choose to receive care from, women could lose access to critical preventive care, such as cancer screenings”. The move could potentially give Planned Parenthood standing to sue the state or even have some or all federal Medicaid funding pulled from the state. He is one of the Republicans who’ve spoken out against Planned Parenthood after undercover videos showed organization executives talking about the extraction and distribution of tissue from aborted fetuses.
That’s the statement that brought the crowd to their feet at the meeting, but this favorable reaction comes after scrutiny following the governor’s decision to terminate the agreement between the Alabama Medicaid Agency and Planned Parenthood. “The abortion aspect of Planned Parenthood should not – absolutely should not – be funded”. Pardon us if we don’t take PP CEO Cecile Richards’ word for it, and instead believe that Carson is a true conservative operating under upright ethical standards.
When speaking to Fox News about Planned Parenthood, he said: ‘At 17 weeks, you’ve got a nice little nose and little fingers and hands and the heart’s beating. Despite some pressure from Republicans in his state, Idaho’s governor is refusing to open an investigation into Planned Parenthood, saying there’s not enough evidence to suggest any wrongdoing.
Previous released videos by the CMP revealed senior Planned Parenthood personnel discussing the harvesting and selling of fetal tissue and organs.

Carson this week also suggested that racism was behind Planned Parenthood’s abortion and contraceptive services.
