Devasher also talked about the recent statement of Pakistan Army Chief Raheel Sharif’s statement that the solution to Kashmir is the implementation of the United Nations resolution.

Addressing a ceremony on Defence Day at the General Headquarters (GHQ), General Raheel said called for countrywide implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP). North Waziristan had become a hotbed of terrorists. “Pakistan will continue to support Kashmir on the diplomatic and ethical fronts”, Sharif said. Significantly, China is building the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor+ (CPEC) – that runs through PoK – for a whopping $46 billion. “Its timely completion and protection is our national undertaking”, he said. Pakistani armed forces are fully capable of defending Pakistan in conventional and non-conventional warfare, and from any internal or external threat, he said.
“Be it the challenge on military or diplomatic front; on the borders or within the cities, we know our friends and foes very well”, the army chief added.
“Pakistan’s defence had been strong in the past but now it is impregnable”, Raheel said, adding that Pakistan wants good relations with all the neighbouring countries on the basis of equality and mutual respect.

In an obvious reference to India, he said, that Pakistan was completely aware of whatever overt and coverts conspiracies its enemies were hatching against it and reiterated the resolve to thwart all attempts at damaging the country. “We, know well how to abide by bonds of friendship and how to avenge upon our enemies”, he said.

He praised the military, police and other law enforcement agencies for their “utmost efforts” to establish law and order in the country. “But I always knew that Pakistan could fight the war and come out as the victor and we did”, he added.
