It’s estimated that thousands of children will be diagnosed with childhood cancer in the U.S every year.
You’re encouraged to “go gold” this month in support of children fighting the battle of their lives. My own daughter was diagnosed with leukemia in February 2013 and prior to that I was completely unaware of childhood cancer.
More than 40,000 children undergo treatment for cancer each year.

At Tuesday’s city council meeting, Mayor Jim Blevins presented the city with a proclamation naming the month of September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
There are approximately 375,000 adult survivors of children’s cancer in the United States.
