Poll finds Trump, Clinton locked in virtual tie
For a time, their planes were parked about 200 yards apart at the Cleveland airport, a sign of Ohio’s importance in the election. Republicans and Democrats voted for the automatic, across-the board cuts that affected both military and domestic programs, though the White House has long pressed Congress to lift the spending limits. “But it’s reverted to being just as much of a swing state as it usually is”.

His position on the sequester has been even more murky.
Trump leads by 19 percentage points – 55 percent to 36 percent – among 3,358 people linked to the US military, according to the latest NBC News SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking Poll. Among military and veteran voters, he does even better (53 per cent to 28 per cent).
Trump said at the forum that he’d be open to “working” a way for undocumented immigrants to serve in the USA military – a sharp contrast to his tone during a speech in Arizona last week where he said he would focus on deporting undocumented immigrants from the country.
His appeal comes as polls show Clinton with a slight lead over Republican Donald Trump.
Asked about whether her foreign policy was “hawkish”, Clinton also said that she views “force as a last resort, not a first choice”. This newspaper has not recommended a Democrat for the nation’s highest office since before World War II – if you’re counting, that’s more than 75 years and almost 20 elections.
Trump told the forum he was “totally against the war in Iraq” because it has de-stabilized the Middle East, and added that “I have good judgment”. But it’s bad enough if a President Trump were to feel pressure to tilt in Russia’s favor because he was indebted to Putin-allied investors. When they are not so good, I don’t pay attention. While the candidates never appeared on stage together, their back-to-back sessions served as a preview of sorts for their upcoming presidential debates.
They will not be on the stage at the same time, but it could serve as a warm-up for their first debate, scheduled for September 26.
Clinton made her stop at a brewery in Cleveland before heading to a nearby Labor Day parade and rally, where she tested a new jab at her opponent: “Friends don’t let friends vote for Trump”. He says more documents will be released, “no matter the day of the week”.
Buoyed by polls showing him regaining some ground on Clinton, Trump portrayed himself in an address in Philadelphia as a defender of traditional Republican values on national security but with a distinct unwillingness to launch new wars in the Middle East.
Trump also used the speech to repeat his criticism of rival Hillary Clinton’s decision to use a private email server while she served as secretary of state.
“I think under the leadership of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, the generals have been reduced to rubble”, Trump said.
“Sacrifice is not in your vocabulary in your nature”, she said of Trump, who was criticized by fellow Republicans for getting into a verbal fight in July with the parents of a Muslim U.S. soldier killed in Iraq. She slammed Trump’s character and failure to release his tax returns. “You could dismiss these actions as insecure schoolyard behavior but this man is running to be president of the United States”, she said.
“The trend lines are the important thing to point to”, Miller told Reuters.

On the other hand, the cable news media is extremely interested in something that Hillary Clinton hasn’t done, which is to hold a formal press conference this year, or since December 5 of last year, to be exact.
