Trump Put Most Extreme Right-wing Elements On Driver’s Seat: Clinton Campaign

“The Republican nominee hired David Bossie, the president of the conservative political advocacy group Citizens United, as deputy campaign manager to help steer his campaign in the final months of the election, Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway confirmed to CNN Thursday”.

The addition of Bossie comes after Trump’s latest round of hires saw the appointment of Kellyanne Conway as campaign manager and Breitbart News head Steve Bannon as the campaign’s CEO.

Trump told the Washington Post about the hire in a phone call Thursday.

“Solid. Smart. Loves politics, knows how to win”, Trump said in the interview.

Media Matters demonstrates that Podesta accurately describes Bossie’s “role in releasing selectively edited transcripts and video of prison conversations by Clinton confidant Webster Hubbell”.

Bossie’s organization wanted to advertise the film during TV broadcasts around the time Clinton was campaigning during the 2008 presidential primary, but the 2002 Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act (BCRA) forbade Bossie’s group from doing so.

Citizens United spokesman Bryan Lanza took a job with the Trump campaign in mid-July connecting reporters with political and policy experts who support the billionaire’s candidacy.

Until this week Bossie himself was running an anti-Clinton super PAC named ‘Defeat Crooked Hillary’.

Hundreds of protesters march in New York City in 2012 to mark the two-year anniversary of the Supreme Court decision, Citizens United vs.

Citizens United became infamous after it orchestrated a 2010 Supreme Court decision that ended many restrictions on political spending for corporations and unions.

“Look, conservatives haven’t been happy and together since Ronald Reagan, so I think what we need to do is put aside the small things, and look at the big global picture of a Hillary Clinton presidency, and that should frighten us all”.

The case dramatically scaled back regulations on unions and corporations’ political spending – and critics claimed it ushered in a unsafe era where corporations can influence elections through virtually unlimited campaign spending. “We are in the icebox for four years with Hillary Clinton, and America goes down the drain, because four more years of the Barack Obama agenda is a risky thing for America”.

Clinton complained a year ago in an interview with the Associated Press that the Supreme Court ruling should be overturned.
