Sony has said the games business is set to be its biggest growth driver, helped by strong PS4 console sales, a rise in subscribers to its PlayStation network and the launch of its virtual reality headset. So the company kicked off today’s show with the official announcement of that system, which will sell for $300 and should be available everywhere by September 15th, and quickly moved on to the main event: the reveal of a more powerful PlayStation 4 system that won’t replace the current model, but provide a new high-end option with several added bells and whistles. While the newest console is extremely similar in function to the PlayStation 4, its simplified design reduces its size noticeable, reports The Verge.

The Verge reported that the Sony PlayStation 4 Pro has been equipped with a faster processor, better graphics, and support for the 4K resolution.
The PlayStation 4 Pro was also officially unveiled today, originally dubbed PS4 Neo, which is intended as an additional upgrade alongside the next generation of the PS4. Many attendees were hoping the console would still contain a 4K resolution player even though it wasn’t discussed in the presentation, but it seems the exclusion has since been confirmed.
Additionally, Sony will make an upgrade available that will enable all 40 million users of its PlayStation 4 console to upgrade to HDR, House said.
The biggest test for the new PS4 Pro will be the upcoming holiday buying season.

The PS 4 Pro will launch on November 10 and will come with a one terabyte hard drive as well as more power to support PlayStation VR, which launches in October.
