Trump Again Praises Putin, Says Is Better Leader Than Obama

At NBC’s September 7 Commander-in-Chief Forum, Donald Trump praised Russian president Vladimir Putin for having “very strong control over a country” and saying that Putin has “been a leader”.

“Well, he does have an 82% approval rating, according to the different pollsters, who by the way, some of them are based right here”, Trump replied.

At the start of his turn on the stage, Mr Trump, who earlier on Wednesday vowed to spend billions of extra dollars to build up the USA military, struggled when asked to explain what experience he had had in his own life to qualify him to lead America on the world stage. “I did exactly what I should have done and I take it very seriously, always have, always will, ‘ she said”.

Before a crowd including military members and veterans on the decommissioned carrier Intrepid in New York Trump said the generals under President Obama and Clinton have ‘not been successful’. Republicans and Democrats voted for the automatic, across-the board cuts that affected both military and domestic programs.

Trump’s proposal to lift the sequester limits on military spending won praise from Republicans on Capitol Hill even as some acknowledged the reality that Democratic opposition might render it hard to achieve.
