The Paralympic Games will be held from September 7 to 18 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The Paralympics look set to make equal strides when it comes to representing LGBT people living with disability, and one openly gay athlete has the honour of carrying the Union Jack flag into the Olympic stadium during tonight’s Paralympic opening ceremony.

“These officials obviously know nothing about sports or Para sports”. Raj said despite repeated requests, they failed to yield any response from the authorities regarding the telecast of the event.

It was a truly handsome representation of the para-athletes and the heart and soul they poured into preparing for this moment. “We are also citizens of the same country and when there was no problem in telecasting the Rio Olympics, where is the hurdle now?” he asked.

The Sports Ministry asserted on Wednesday that concerns raised by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) regarding the kit of the Indian contingent have been resolved.

“The drive and dedication that these athletes, coaches, and support staff have shown to make it to the highest level of sport competition is impressive – and now the entire world will have the privilege of watching them as they strive for their personal bests and embody in every way the worldwide Paralympic motto of “Spirit in Motion”.
