Angels’ Mike Trout walks away from crash without injury

The accident occurred at 8:50 p.m. local time, a few hours after the completion of the Angels’ 3-0 win over the Reds.

Two people were reportedly hospitalized as a result of two related incidents on the 55 freeway in nearby Tustin. The impact of the crash trapped the woman in her vehicle and she was freed by firefighters.

According to the USA Today, Trout was traveling roughly 55 miles per hour when traffic stopped in front of him due to another crash.

California Highway Patrol indicated Trout wasn’t charged in the crash, according to the KCBS report, and Angels general manager Billy Eppler later released a statement. He is at home with his roommate and planning on traveling to with the club to Seattle tomorrow afternoon.

With all the injuries that the Angels have had this season, fans can breath easy knowing that Trout was able to walk away from the crash.

Although the Angels are wandering through a mediocre season, Trout is still having a great season with 25 homers and 84 RBIs. The 2014 AL MVP Award victor is batting.319 with 25 homers and 21 stolen bases this season. Trout was the All-Star Game MVP in 2015 also.
