Deathstroke Announced as Main Foe in Ben Affleck’s Standalone Batman Film
Ben Affleck has tantalised fans with new footage of a major DC Comics villain. While we have no idea who is in the costume, the footage offers up a first look at fan-favourite comic book villain Deathstroke in the DC Films Universe. The video features (potential spoiler alert) major DC Comics villain Deathstroke, aka Slade Wilson, and while Wilson isn’t doing anything particularly villainous in the clip below, it should still be more than enough to make DC fans go insane. He will next be seen in Justice League, which opens on November 17, 2017. No official release date has been announced for the project, though Affleck previously said he wouldn’t begin production until the script was completed.

A source has confirmed to The Wrap that Deathstroke will be the main antagonist of the standalone Batman movie, which is as-yet untitled. This is fantastic news for DC fans everywhere.
Deathstroke, a.k.a Slade Wilson, is a mercenary and master assassin in the DC Universe.
Affleck’s Tweet comes in the thick of filming for Justice League, so one would anticipate the character showing up in the upcoming team-up film.

Affleck is now filming Justice League, which will see him take on the role of Batman – a character we were re-introduced to earlier this year – for the second time. He was portrayed in the DC live-action show Smallville and later in the CW show Arrow as the main villain for season 2. Jared Leto, who played The Joker in DC’s Suicide Squad movie, is rumored to be deeply upset with Warner Bros. regarding the portrayal of his character.
