Tony Romo of Dallas sidelined with broken bone in back
Tony Romo reportedly left the Cowboys’ preseason game against the Seahawks Thursday with a back injury, prompting the “typical injury-prone Romo” reaction from some fans.

But that’s more wishful thinking as even Garrett acknowledged that the Cowboys expect Romo back “during the season”, making rookie fourth-round pick Dak Prescott the team’s opening day starter.
A broken bone in his back forced Romo to miss time in 2014 and surgery on another back problem saw the 36-year-old sit out the final game of the 2013 campaign.
Garrett wouldn’t rule out Romo for the regular-season opener September 11 against the New York Giants. “We’ve heard a wide range of possibilities in terms of when he would be able to play”.
Romo had an MRI Friday, and the Cowboys learned the results later that night. “You have to understand you’re under a microscope 24 hours a day, and there’s no good reason for him to go into a place like that”.
Some believe Romo, 36, will never again play a full National Football League season. With that being said, for the foreseeable future Romo’s days in Dallas may be numbered.
Center Travis Frederick said the team was surprised by the news on Romo when they reported to the team’s new practice facility Saturday.
“Still trying to take it in a little bit”, Frederick said. He has also rushed for two touchdowns.

The Cowboys will now turn to Prescott who has had a sensational preseason, completing 39 of 50 passes for 454 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions. He played in only four games previous year, and his last 16-game season came in 2012.
