Could Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson get hot, play the spoiler?
US Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson has received an endorsement from a major newspaper in Virginia, a much-needed boost to the former New Mexico governor’s shaky bid for the White House.

If elected as president, Gary’s vice president would be Bill Weld, a former Governor of MA who also served two terms like Gary did in New Mexico. Most political observers expected that the small-government libertarian would be the home for Republicans disenchanted with Trump, not big-government democrats disillusioned with Clinton.
“The notion that privately run prisons are locking people up for money is not as important as the policies and politics that lead to criminalizing activities that aren’t criminal in most of the world”, Johnson said. “They would lose their tax exempt status if they did that”.
Johnson said his opposition to what he considers government overreach, and his stance on both ending the “war on drugs” and setting up marijuana programs have been confused with favoring the legalization of many substances. Stein’s name wasn’t even mentioned; in his report, NBC’s Jacob Soboroff included the response of a voter in Iowa to the question of whether she supported Clinton or Trump.
Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson is reportedly backed by 10 percent of the electorate for this fall’s presidential election, potentially setting the stage for the best showing of a third-party candidate in two decades, the New York Times reported Sunday.
According to his website, Johnson believes that the national debt is the greatest threat to USA national security, and on immigration, Johnson believes the problem shouldn’t be solved by “building a wall or simply offering amnesty”.
In his meeting with us last week, Johnson explained why he and his running mate offer a sensible appeal to the voters.
Howell said it’s their understanding that the CPD “may include Gov. Johnson if he comes close”.
“There is no chance, no chance that I have, Bill Weld has, of getting elected president or vice president without being in the presidential debates”, Johnson said.
In spite of this, the broadcast network evening newscasts are essentially blacking out the existence of alternatives to Clinton and Trump – a potentially fatal blow to candidates who are required to average 15 percent support to qualify for the upcoming presidential debates.
“As a New Mexican, he’s fairly well known in Arizona”, said Johnson’s spokesman, Joe Hunter.
If TV spots and polling numbers don’t get Gary Johnson into the debates, he may have another card up his sleeve: public pressure.
Ending his speech, Johnson asked his supporters to continuously push his campaign on social media and said that while he hopes Libertarians vote for him, he also is hoping for independents. I would argue if you look at all of Johnson’s platform, it is pretty clear that he is committed to his party’s general philosophy. “Wasting your vote is voting for someone you don’t believe in”.

Well folks, it’s election season again, and we will have to choose which of four viable candidates to choose for president.
