Thompson timed 10.78 seconds with a slight tailwind at Athletissima – just.07 outside her time in the 100 final in Rio and.08 behind her world-leading time this season.
She should easily defeat Facey, Cote d’Ivoire’s Marie-Josee Ta Lou, who was fourth in Rio, and the likes of American Jenna Prandini, who finished second behind Thompson in the 100m in Lausanne.
Harrison’s time Thursday would have won the Rio Olympics and was well short of her world record of 12.20.
Olympic champion Omar McLeod was second in the men’s 110m hurdles in a time of 13.12 seconds, behind Spain’s Orlando Ortego in 13.11.
Keni Harrison, who missed the U.S. Olympic team but broke the 100m hurdles world record July 22, won the Lausanne 100m hurdles in 12.42 seconds.
In what promises to be one of the highlights, the women’s 3,000m steeplechase will feature the gold, silver and bronze medallists from Rio in Bahrain’s Ruth Jebet, Kenya’s world champion Hyvin Kiyeng and Emma Coburn of the US.
It was also a second-place finish for high jumper Robbie Grabarz, clearing 2.32m behind Qatar’s Mutaz Essa Barshim with 2.35m, while Lynsey Sharp produced her third fastest time of the year to finish third in the 800m.
Lashawn Merritt raced 44.50sec to seal victory in the one-lap race.
Fans here were eagerly awaiting another clash in the 200m between Diamond League leader Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands and Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson, who won in a close finish in the Rio de Janeiro finals.
Spanovic got back on top in Lausanne, winning with 6.83 as her USA opponent could only manage 6.46 for fifth place.
Caterine Ibarguen maintained her dominance to win the triple-jump, with her fifth round effort of 14.76 enough for first place, while Ivana Spanovic (6.83) saw off the challenge of Lorraine Ugen (6.71) to win the long-jump.
