Sameer Samat, VP of Product Management, Android & Google Play, said, “Google has taken a different approach to build and launch Nougat which was announced earlier this year”.

The operating system is being released with more than 250 features, including a virtual reality mode, a new JIT/AOT compiler, support for Vulkan, multi-window support, and direct reply capabilities.

Nougat introduces new features into Android, including redesigned notification interaction services and support for search results in multiple languages within applications. Same goes for the Nexus Player, Pixel C and Android One. It is probable that if you are already on the developer preview of Android Nougat, you’d get the update faster.

Those with Nexus devices are going to start getting the roll-out today, and as you’d expect, there’s a lot of new features and improvements. Any other devices enrolled in the Android Beta Program, such as the Sony Xperia Z3, will also get the update.

Rival Apple is scheduled to release the latest operating system for the iPhone next month. However, we could also see their faces filled with envy, as those with a Samsung, LG, HTC Android device are still left waiting.

“With Android Nougat, you’ll have even more ways to make your phone your own”.

It also says that the LG V20 will be the first Android smartphone to ship with Android 7.0 out of the box.
