Starting Vikings quarterback yet to be named
The Minnesota Vikings traded for Sam Bradford with the intention of him being their starting quarterback this quarterback.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Shaun Hill is the definition of a journeyman in the NFL.
The Vikings open the regular season against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. “I would anticipate (Bradford starts), and if he doesn’t, it’s not going to change how we prepare”. The Vikings have tried to combat this by acquiring veteran Sam Bradford from the Philadelphia Eagles. And even after he does decide, the coach said he would not reveal the answer until just before kickoff in Nashville.
Hill, 36, spent last season with the Vikings but did not start a game.
Considering Minnesota yielded a first-round pick for Bradford, it’s likely he’ll be called on to be the starter.
Despite the reputation earned as a Heisman Trophy victor and a first overall draft pick, Bradford has yet to find his place as a successful starter in the NFL.
“He’s a very intelligent quarterback and he’s faced this defense before”, Mularkey said.
“They wouldn’t give up a 1 and a 4 to have a guy sit very long”, he said. Bradford wanted a chance like this after watching the Eagles grab quarterback Carson Wentz with the No. 2 overall pick in the spring.
Early in the week, Bradford said the goal was simply “to progress to that point to where I feel comfortable enough to get out there and play if I’m needed to”.
This is obviously an overpay for Bradford, who struggled for a good part of past year, before playing well in the second half of the season. The move came after Bridgewater suffered a dislocated left knee and torn ACL on August 30 in practice.
Hill led the first team during quarterback drills Wednesday before the media was banished. For the most part, I’ve been a backup quarterback in this league and life as a backup is there’s no warning.
“I think my expectations are extremely high”, the head coach said Wednesday morning after waiting out a fire alarm. “That’s just the way I’ve always approached it and that’s the way it’s worked for me”.
I like Bradford. I think he has been shortchanged by poor coaching and lousy talent around him, but at best he gets the Vikings back to the playoffs. When I watch TV, I watch Disney Junior. “So unless it scrolls across the bottom on Disney Junior, I don’t see it”, Hill said.

“I stay right in my lane”, he explained. Per the St. Paul Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson, Bradford doesn’t see how it can’t be now.
