The Return Of The Great Ozil And Sanchez

Arsene Wenger confirmed after Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Watford yesterday, that just paperwork was needed to be finalised before announcing his arrival.

For Arsenal it is a vital win, having lost at home on the opening weekend to Liverpool and been held to a goalless draw by Leicester City amid a familiar rash of injuries and supporter unrest at a lack of transfer business.

While Santi Cazorla, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil got the goals in what was a clinical first half for Wenger’s side, Xhaka was assured and confident in possession.

“There are 35 more games to play and we will fight to win every game and be in the mix in the last game”, he was quoted as saying by the BBC.

“I think what we have seen from him today is what we want from him”.

This was a running theme throughout the first half – the continued excellence of Ozil and Sanchez in their intricate link-up, and ultimately, their touch, creativity and endless movement was too much for Watford to handle. In the second half he dropped physically.

“Everybody has to do their bit to help the team get three points”. But of course we need him.

Arsenal secured their first league win of the season on Saturday when they won 3-1 away to Watford, and will use the global break to strengthen their squad with a couple of signings.

We shot ourselves in the foot in the first game and were under huge pressure.

In the match against Watford, Holding completed 100% of his passes in the first half and an overall accuracy of 90%.

“We had two hard away games”, Wenger told Sky Sports. “We are a new team gelling again, these first four or five games won’t define our season”.

Substitute Roberto Pereyra scored for the Hornets on his debut but it proved to be a consolation for the hosts. “Everybody else will do the same, so we will try to do our best”.

When a move to Arsenal was on the cards, Mustafi spoke to global team-mate Ozil and now readily admits he can not wait to link up with the Gunners. “(Robert) Pereyra, (Daryl) Janmaat, (Younes) Kaboul and Success all came in and did very well”.
