Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 will be coming back with a more twisted plot as it will pick up on the cliffhanger left by Season 12. Before he realised that Jo was drunk and DeLuca was trying to help her, Alex laid into DeLuca with his fists.

Grey’s Anatomy returns for season 13 on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. on ABC. In the finale, he beat up DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) to a bloody pulp over a misunderstanding with girlfriend Jo (Camilla Luddington). Judging by the trailer, it looks like the stakes are high.
“You think no one’s gonna realize this was you?” she worriedly asks Alex. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) worries over the situation because she knows Alex was behind DeLuca’s predicament. “You gonna turn me over?” he retorts.
We imagine that this is still just the beginning of Alex’s problems in season 13, given that it is now going to be that much more hard to try to get the two back together after all of this.

DeLuca’s ex, Maggie (Kelly McCreary), also said that there will be an intense fallout from the actions of Alex and that the doctors will be experiencing friction as some of them have started taking sides. When one of Grey Sloan’s own lands in the hospital, Bailey (Chandra Wilson) tries to figure out what happened while the rest of the doctors jump in to help. It also teases Meredith’s relationship with Alex as she mulls over a secret she knows about him.
