According to the reports from Swedish outlet Expressen, the Gunners are monitoring the youngster’s progress very closely and are keen on bringing him to the Emirates.

The Swedish press claims that there are a host of clubs having an eye on the youngster, among which Arsenal and Newcastle United’s names figure. Today, Arsenal are linked with Joel Asoro….
The 17 year old made his U21 debut in the 1-1 draw against Spain and it comes off the back of making his debut for the Black Cats in the Premier League against Middlesbrough back in August.
Arsenal has always been keen on developing young talent and has one of the most reputable youth academies in the country.
SportsMole reported on Tuesday that Inter Milan and AC Milan have both registered their interest in the player, while British newspaper Chronicle added that the likes of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain, Valencia and Villareal are all after the youngster.
Asoro started his first match for the Wearsiders in the EFL Cup victory over Shrewsbury and put in an encouraging 90 minute performance – twice coming close to opening his first team account during the 1-0 victory.
The versatile Asoro – who can play as a midfielder or a forward – netted 12 goals in 17 games for Sweden at Under-17 level and he joined Sunderland in 2015.

However, Sunderland are likely to place a heavy price tag on Asoro’s head as they wouldn’t want to lose one of Europe’s top talents on the cheap.
