Imran Khan only gives statements without evidence, says Rafique

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan announced that due to Ayaz Sadiq’s partiality over the disqualification issue, he no longer considers him as the National Assembly speaker.

I wanted to ask a few questions of Ayaz Sadiq.

They said Imran Khan should change his protest plan and extend cooperation to the government in national interest.

Delving into the issue of rigged elections, the PTI chief said, “We can not have free and fair elections until we punish those who have been involved in rigging”.

Rafique was speaking on the floor of the National Assembly today after Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman declared that he would not acknowledge Ayaz Sadiq as speaker of the lower house from today.

Opposition parties will meet Thursday to chalk out joint plan of action against the ruling of Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq for rejecting reference against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Addressing the gathering in Karachi, Imran Khan said the prime minister must be brought to the justice.

Meanwhile, in a statement, former Punjab governor and PTI leader Chaudhry Sarwar urged the government to initiate the accountability process, especially on the issue of Panama leaks, within 16 days or get ready for the Raiwind march. Imran Khan left the national assembly session to talk to media outside the parliament house. He also said that he would raise the issue of references before the assembly. On Monday, Sadiq dismissed a reference seeking prime minister’s disqualification and sent a reference seeking PTI chairman’s disqualification to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

He said Raiwind was the part of the country like other places of the country and PTI was planning peaceful protest there.

“It’s possible that the PTI may exercise the option of moving the court of law against the decision of the speaker”, PTI Vice-Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said while talking to The Express Tribune.
