The Bourne police department posted a video on their Facebook page that shows the auto, identified as a Ford Focus, in the canal.

Rescue crews pulled the man from the water, according to the Bourne Police Department. He was treated for minor injuries at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. Nobody else was in the auto, Carrara said. The auto, a 2006 Ford Focus, was fully submerged in the water.

In addition to police, the Bourne Fire Department, Massachusetts State Police, and the Army Corps of Engineers responded. The man had pulled his auto up to the deck and had talked to them briefly, saying it was a lovely view, the two men said. Video by David Curran.
