“Did that really just happen?” the teen wrote in her post.

According to KSLA, McKenzie Gill went to the Bossier City, La. bakery at Albertsons, a grocery store chain, and she was denied her request.

Gill said she never thought her story would see national attention, saying “I was just venting on Facebook when I made the status that I made, I didn’t think I was going to get as much attention as it did”.

The teen is so excited to vote in this year’s presidential election, she said, that she is having a Donald Trump themed party.

It did. Gill told KSLA that she wanted the cake in order to celebrate Trump’s candidacy with her friends during her impending birthday party. McKenzie and her mom ordered a cake from the local grocery store with an American flag and “Trump 2016” on it, but the bakery refused to decorate it because the Republican candidate’s slogan offended their precious sensibilities.

“We apologize to our customer in Bossier City for the situation regrading the cake that was requested”, wrote Yeates.

Gill and her parents filed a complaint with the company against the store, and took their business to another locale. “We would be happy to provide the cake as the customer requested”.

Albertson’s spokesman Connie Yeates responded to the incident in a statement.

The state also imposed a gag order on the evangelical Christian bakers to prevent them from publicly discussing their unwillingness to participate in same-sex weddings.
