Pakistan kills 4 terrorists who attacked Sri Lankan Cricket team in Lahore
Thilan Samaraweera, Ajantha Mendis, Tharanga Paranvithana, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardena were among the players injured in the attack.The four terrorists were killed in an operation carried out by Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Department in Lahore.

At least eight people were killed when a bus and a minivan carrying the Sri Lankan cricket team and officials was ambushed by a dozen gunmen at Lahore’s Liberty Chowk on March 4, 2009.
The officials failed to identify their armed group or the militants.
Police in Pakistan have confirmed that four Islamist militants, who were suspected of attacking the Sri Lankan cricket team in 2009, have been killed in a shoot-out.
Zubair, Abdul Wahab, Adnan and Atique were killed, while three others managed to escape when the security forces conducted a search operation near Manawan area, Geo TV reported.
The same militants were involved in the suicide bombings in Lahore’s famous Moon Market in 2009.
The terrorists have died during a skirmish which occurred in Panjab state, after the terrorists launched an attack against the CID officers.
The security team was “attacked by 7 to 8 terrorists” as they reached the East Service Road of Ring Road near the Mian Town Bridge. The police immediately took cover and returned fire.
An anti-terrorism court in June indicted six members of a banned outfit in the Sri Lankan cricket team attack case. Three of them, including Obaidullah, Anwar and Khalil, were on bail while the other were locked up in Kot Lakhpat Jail.
Malik along with his two sons and 11 accomplices was killed during a similar police operation in Southern Punjab a year ago.
