A Chinese newspaper has accused Western media of sensationalizing the gaffe during U.S. President Barack Obama’s tumultuous arrival for the G20 Summit in China.

The Syrian crisis was top of the agenda at the two leaders’ meeting in China, Putin said, adding that he felt real interest and concern from the American president in finding solutions in Syria.

Earlier Monday, a senior Obama administration official was quoted as saying that the two presidents failed to force a breakthrough in negotiations over a cease-fire in Syria, but have agreed to keep up negotiations.

A British official told reporters at the G20 that Xi told May he was open to a bilateral trade agreement between the two countries. The official would not be named discussing the private discussion, which also covered USA concerns over cybersecurity and the situation in Ukraine.

Negotiations between Kerry and Lavrov, aimed at a plan to increase military cooperation between the United States and Russian Federation so that terrorists in Syria are better targeted and civilian casualties are reduced, have not yet succeeded.

The ruling against Apple has pushed the issue into the limelight and raised the risk of significant push-back from the United States, where some lawmakers are saying it represents a European encroachment on the USA potential tax base.

“Just as I believe the Paris agreement will ultimately prove to be a turning point for our planet, I believe that history will judge today’s efforts as pivotal”, said Obama. Obama used an alternative exit, but quarrels broke out on the tarmac and at other venues over access by US officials and the traveling press.

Both sides say that the incident resulted from a dispute over whether a non-English speaking driver could roll a stairway up to Air Force One. “If they (the United States) wish to restore relations they have to simply cancel these decisions (on sanctions)”.
