Manning Passing Academy grad Dak Prescott looks to take down teacher

The big question for Giants fans is how will the team perform under new head coach Ben McAdoo. Some projections are 10-12 weeks because of the compression fracture in his back, the third major injury to his spinal area, not including a procedure to remove a cyst from a vertebrae. We don’t have a situation on the 53, this isn’t an active roster day-game situation.

On Sunday, he will look to beat one of his teachers when the Dallas Cowboys take on Eli Manning and the New York Giants. “In Tony’s case, the IR term is for eight weeks and we feel like, given what the injury is and the progress he’s made, we feel at this point we want to do that”.

The Dallas Cowboys are 3-0 straight up and 2-1 against the spread in their last three home games against the New York Giants. But the Broncos are a far more run-oriented offense under Gary Kubiak, who can emphasize his system in Year 2 now that Manning is gone and Trevor Siemian is the quarterback.

Manning tutored Prescott at the summer Manning Passing Academy and said he expects huge things from the rookie. “Wouldn’t have expected for it to happen this early, but it did unfortunately”. Eli Manning is known for getting rid of the ball quickly making the pass rush less of a concern. Randy Bullock will handle kicking duties Week 1 with Brown out. McAdoo, who was brought in to replace former head coach Tom Coughlin, has yet to handle the head coaching duties of an National Football League team in his career, however the Giants offense has experience with McAdoo as he was the team’s offensive coordinator the last 2 seasons. In limited preseason duty due to a hamstring issue, Elliott still impressed behind the league’s best offensive line.

“I know his commitment every day has been really, really good and he’s learned quickly what we’re asking him to do”, Garrett said. Prescott was a dervish in the preseason, but now all of defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo’s brain power will be directed toward putting the clamps on Prescott – and, more importantly, rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott. “Again, his focus, and our focus, is on the Giants”.

In his 13th season in the league, Manning knows that this is the flawless time to start over as none of the teams have an advantage in the record, and they all have chances to get to their goal, the Super Bowl.
