Upstate university to help displaced ITT Tech students
“We understand many students are anxious at ITT discontinued operations this week, and we want ITT students to know we will work with them to smoothly transfer the credits they have earned”, Dean of University’s College of Graduate and Professional Students at Trine, Craig Laker said.

The move follows a decision by Hillsborough Community College earlier this week to form a “rapid response team” to help ITT Tech students with advising, financial aid, transcript evaluation, counseling and other services.
SPC is also waiving its $40 application fee to students displaced by the ITT closure.
Some undergraduate degree programs at UNT are created to accept 45 or more transfer students from technical programs, the university said on Thursday. “This is an unfortunate situation that has affected thousands of students working to build a better future for themselves and their families through their pursuit of higher education, and we hope we can accommodate ITT Tech students in achieving those goals”. Cato Institute Education Analyst Neal McCluskey said most of those students will pick up classes at community colleges.
Athens State offers more than 50 majors, but some programs offered at ITT aren’t available at the university, including nursing.

OCC’s outreach event is created to assist former ITT students with figuring out if any of the community college’s academic programs fit their needs.
