Congress spokesperson up in arms in Gujarat
Bilkulonline.com, Ahmedabad, Sep 8: The simmering anger against the Gujarat Congress leadership exploded on Thursday with senior leader and spokesperson Shaktisinh Gohil giving up responsibilities for the 2017 assembly polls, days after a former MP resigned from the core committee.

“I think if the process happens thus, it would be welcome”, Gohil said in his letter addressed to Solanki. Talking to TOI, Bavaliya said, “The party president and other leaders have ignored the contribution and support of the Kolis and other backward communities from Saurashtra”. “I would like to offer my honest and dedicated services to the party as its worker but would like to request you to accept my resignation from the special responsibility entrusted in me”, he added.
Sources in the Congress claimed that Thakor was unhappy with the party leadership over some booth and ward level appointments in north Gujarat ahead of 2017 polls. The stae Congress has started preparing for it.
However, he refused to name them saying everybody in the party as also outside knew about these elements.
In a serious attack on state party leadership, former Congress MP Jagdish Thakore alleged on Wednesday that “the grip of Congress leaders having sympathy with BJP and doing their personal and family business with the help of BJP leaders and ministers, has strengthened over the party apparatus”.
Thakor, who represented Patan seat from 2009 to 2014 in Lok Sabha, sent the resignation letter to Gujarat Congress chief Bharatsinh Solanki and Leader of Opposition in Gujarat Assembly Shankersinh Vaghela. Asked if he planned to quit the Congress, Thakore said: “I will be in the Congress and work for the party till the last breath of my life”.
