“It is a very interesting challenge for me and I am very excited to be here”.

Loic Remy has had to call the halt on his Crystal Palace loan, as he has suffered a minor calf injury, forcing the Frenchman to travel from the other side of London back to Cobham to start recovering progress.

The 29-year-old France forward joined Palace last month on a season-long loan, having largely found himself on the bench with Chelsea since signing with them in 2014.

“It is obviously a blow for the player and for us as a squad”, said Pardew.
