Nintendo, which announced the tie-up at Apple’s launch event for the iPhone 7, saw its shares jump 18% before falling back to around a 13% rise.

While the new mobile game looks familiar to millions of fans, its gameplay is largely different from previous games that star the iconic plumber.

The final mode is a building mode where you can create a Mushroom Kingdom. One difference, however, is Toad Rally, a new multiplayer mode just for “Super Mario Run”. Despite the “Run” in the name, it seems to be a lot like the old Super Mario Bros games, with coins, jumping, pipes, etc. Cook handed over the stage to the “father of Mario”, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto, to expand on the announcement, revealing a brand new mobile-optimized game, “Super Mario Run”, that will be coming to the iPhone. “We could not be more honoured that Nintendo chose to bring Mario to iOS first”, added Cook.

The endless runner will come to iOS by the holiday season and will be available as a free download, with a single in-app purchase to unlock the full game.

You want a “real” Nintendo mobile game? More details will be disclosed at a later date. He’s the game’s lead director. Of course, that changes when Super Mario is involved.

Miyamoto said that Super Mario evolved each time he has found a new platform.

Nintendo’s stock was already volatile this year after the release of the blockbuster augmented reality game “Pokemon Go“, which is developed and distributed by Niantic, but affiliated with the The Pokemon Company.

Miyamoto said the game is timed for the public release of iOS 10, which the will also see the release of virtual Mario stickers.
