An Australian Comedian Hilariously Recreated Celebrity Instagrams

Aussie comedian Celeste Barber became obsessed with questions like this, so she created the #celestechallengeaccepted hashtag, to recreate some of the “candid” celebrity snaps that assail social media feeds daily.

For example, rolling around the desert in stockings a la Kim K? Still, when you look at the accounts of actual celebrities, it’s impossible to compete with that level of selfie game. Barber unabashedly mocks the “unposed” snapshots of Miranda Kerr eating junk food, and Gisele Bündchen flipping her hair.

“People take all of it too significantly, they’ve such an obsession with celebs, the rich, the privileged & all these life-style blogger still still the celebs think they’re doing normal things”.

It turns out if you pose in your underwear lying on a pile of dirt, comedians will start taking the p*ss out of you.

‘I continued it because people are telling me it is their daily laugh and they have started to challenge me’.

As her series’ popularity has grown, people are now sending Barber celebrity pictures they want her to imitate.

In one post she put together a collage of selfies including herself, Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Miley Cyrus where she questioned why the other females follower count soared while she couldn’t even make it into the thousands.

“The Kardashians are always really out there and ridiculous – I just love it”.
