The revelations on Monday appeared to be the final straw for Abedin, who announced her intention to end their relationship and asked the public for privacy.
Mr. Weiner, who resigned in 2011 after it was revealed he had been sending lewd messages and photos to random women online, apparently deleted his Twitter account on Monday after The New York Post reported that he had exchanged sexual messages with an unidentified woman a year ago.
Abedin, whose family goes way, way back with the America-hating Muslim Brotherhood, is separating from her husband former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) after his latest humiliating adventure in sexting.

Campaign officials had braced for fresh revelations about Mr Weiner after the Post reported earlier this month that a Republican had baited Mr Weiner into a sexual online chat.
The film, to air October 22 at 9 p.m. EDT, follows the former congressman as he runs for New York City mayor in 2013, two years after he quit Congress when it was revealed he was sending women sexually explicit messages on social media.

Weiner resigned in June 2011 from Congress, where he represented NY, followed a sexting scandal in which he accidentally posted an explicit photo of himself on his public Twitter timeline instead of via a direct message to a woman, as he had intended.
The resulting implosion of his campaign was the subject of an award-winning documentary, Weiner, released this year.

Weiner has not commented, but Donald Trump did.
Trump, who is twice divorced and has a history of adultery, praised Abedin’s decision but argued that Clinton had shown bad judgment by allowing Weiner in her orbit.
He said he lied to protect his wife, Huma Abedin, who was not present at the Manhattan press conference.

Abedin has been by Clinton’s side for two decades, first as an intern in the first lady’s office in the 1990s and then as a top aide as Clinton began her own political career as a United States senator from NY. She was her intern in the 1990s during the presidency of Mr Bill Clinton and became a top aide while Ms Hillary Clinton served as a senator from NY. He had to resign from Congress in June 2011 after the first in a series of sexting scandals was made public. Weiner says he has been hacked.
