Trump offers plan to boost military spending
White House rivals Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are bringing out the brass, in hopes some military polish will burnish their own national security credentials. Their answers and attacks giving a preview to the upcoming debates. Clinton’s campaign announced that she now has 95 retired generals and admirals backing her candidacy. While there is no law requiring candidates to disclose their taxes, presidential contenders of both parties have understood that it is necessary to show that they have nothing to hide and are free of financial conflicts of interest.
Trump and Clinton spoke back-to-back Wednesday night, each fielding 30 minutes of questions.
The Republican presidential nominee is delivering a speech in Philadelphia outlining his plans to expand the military.
While presenting his plan, he also made sure to take a swing at his Democratic opponent, calling Hillary Clinton “trigger-happy and very unstable”.
The newspaper’s formal endorsement of the former secretary of state comes a day after it published an editorial saying it would not back Trump in 2016, ending a streak of endorsing every Republican presidential nominee since 1968. She vowed to not send American ground troops into Iraq or Syria to fight the Islamic State group.
“There were no discussions about any of the covert actions in process being determined about whether or not to go forward”, she said.
Trump’s Union League address also includes his plans to eliminate deep spending cuts, known as the “sequester”, enacted when Congress failed to reach a budget compromise in 2011. A Trump adviser, speaking on the condition of anonymity to share details ahead of the speech, said Trump would ensure the additional spending is fully paid for.

Many national security experts from past Republican administrations have declared him unfit for the Oval Office due to his temperament and lack of experience. The TV ad time disparity between the two presidential candidates is the smallest in the Sunshine State, though Clinton still has a 5-to-1 on-air advantage.

“Donald Trump simply didn’t come prepared and he’s not going to be prepared to serve as president and that was abundantly clear”. This morning he said the republican candidate has, quote, either contradictory or uninformed or outright wacky ideas.
