Cam Newton featured in Under Armour ad ahead of National Football League kickoff
In “Prince with 1,000 Enemies”, we see Carolina Panthers star quarterback Cam Newton run through the woods like he’s looking for Castle Byers, as his mother Jackie narrates by reading a passage from Richard Adams’s classic children’s book, Watership Down. Today, the athletic staple released a video starring the reigning NFL MVP.

Cam Newton dodges wild beasts in a dark forest and knocks down trees in Under Armour’s latest promotional video from its “It Comes from Below” marketing campaign.
Despite a virtually spotless record of off-field poise, Cam Newton’s career has been a near-constant source of manufactured controversy – much of it perceived as racially motivated.
The 27-year-old quarterback is now making his claim to become the best QB in the National Football League, and the above ad from Under Armour gives you some insight into how Cam’s doing it, as well as what motivates him to be the best. Courtesy of Under Armour.
The ad pays homage to the Richard Adams book, Watership Down, which tells the story of a courageous rabbit who must use all the skills to lead his herd.

“It’s no secret that I have faced many obstacles, but my drive to be the best I can be continues to push me forward”, said Newton in a statement. The tagline is ideal because I’ve always felt that my game is only as good as the foundation it was built on.
