Clinton Suggests Terror Groups Hope for Trump Election

At NBC’s commander-in-chief forum Wednesday night, Trump was asked about his recent intelligence briefings and he suggested security officials specializing in Iraq, Iran and Russian Federation just aren’t happy with the Obama administration.

Later, when an audience member asked about Clinton’s plans to defeat ISIS, Lauer urged her to reply “as briefly as you can”, setting off an instantaneous wave of disgust on Twitter.

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are back at it today – Trump switching his focus to education, while the Democratic nominee is keeping national security in the spotlight.

Trump also renewed his praise of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his disdain for President Barack Obama, saying that the Russian enjoyed an 82 percent approval rating.

After Trump agreed that sexual assault in the military is “a massive problem”, and briefly mentioned setting up a court system within the military, NBC host Matt Lauer interrupted to remind Trump of a 2013 tweet he posted, essentially saying the problem can be blamed on the presence of women in the military.

Clinton first mentioned a meeting with “terror experts” on Wednesday night during a televised forum on national security and veterans issues.

It offered a prelude to how Clinton and Trump will deal with questions of national security in their three upcoming presidential debates later in September and in October. Lauer, determined to pack as much in as he could, also missed opportunities for follow ups. In terms of his discussion with Clinton, Lauer took a firm approach as he kept on pressing the former Secretary of State over the new details of her email scandal.

“It was probably the first time anybody asked me that question”, he said.

“I communicated about classified material on a wholly separate system”.

Rarely does Clinton put the mainstream Republican Party in her crosshairs or address the GOP in language as harsh as she used albeit briefly here on Thursday, standing on the Westchester County tarmac in front of the campaign’s new “Stronger Together” Boeing 737, which shimmered nearby in the morning sun.

TRUMP: “I happen to hear Hillary Clinton say that I was not against the war in Iraq”. For instance, he asked Clinton to explain how she planned to defeat ISIS “as briefly as you can”.

Trump said that under Obama, the U.S. has pursued “the dumbest foreign policy” he has ever seen, the Guardian reports.

Donald Trump has said throughout the presidential campaign that he never supported the Iraq War.

Trump expressed support for the sequester in interviews in 2013 – even describing them as too small – but seemed to suggest at the time that military spending should be exempt. “I wouldn’t do that”, Trump countered.

“These are the desperate attacks of a flailing campaign sinking in the polls, and characteristics of someone woefully unfit for the presidency of the United States”, Jason Miller, senior communications adviser for Trump, said in a statement.

Trump on his plans for ISIS: “And let me tell you, if I like maybe a combination of my plan and the generals” plan or the generals’ plan. if I like their plan, Matt, I’m not gonna call you up and say, “Matt, we have a great plan.’ This is what Obama does”.
