Hillary Clinton wants the African-American community to know that she sees the big picture.
While most national polls have Clinton leading Republican candidate Donald Trump in a tight race, the majority of voters like Gaston question her honesty.
“If he doesn’t even respect all Americans, how can he serve all Americans?”
Those in attendance at the convention said they were thrilled that Clinton made the stop to address attendees.
“I’m sure some of you are sick and exhausted of politicians who think they can just show up at election time, say a few nice words and then just earn your support”, she said, without mentioning Trump’s name. “She’s speaking for us”.
Clinton has focused many of her public remarks on criticism of Trump, including his provocative comments on illegal immigrants, Muslims and women.
“She’s been a great supporter for women throughout her career”, conference attendee Linda Turner said.
But the Clinton campaign acknowledged she had to spend more time focusing her remarks on herself so voters could see the “aspirational” vision she hopes to enact if she becomes the first woman elected USA president.

Clinton will be addressing the National Baptist Convention around 5:15 this evening at the Kansas City Convention Center. It is Clinton’s first visit to Missouri since securing the nomination. “Missouri voters are exhausted of the same old Washington corruption and back room deals from career politicians and will vote for change in November”.
