However, in his new autobiography, Born To Run, the singer reveals the extent of… “Not a good record”, he wrote.

One sad tale had Bruce writing about how his father couldn’t say “I love you” to him, even though they had repaired their relationship by the time Douglas had passed away in 1998. “Can I get sick enough to a where I become a lot more like my father than I thought I might?” Vanity Fair spoke to his longtime manager Jon Landau, who said: “We’ve never talked, not one sentence that I can recall, about ‘When does this stop?'”

He elaborates, to Vanity Fair, “I always picture it as a auto”. All your selves are in it.

Then, when Springsteen wasn’t quite 20 years old, his father made a decision to pull up roots and move from Freehold, New Jersey, to California, taking Springsteen’s mother and seven-year-old sister with him.

I’m a man now.’ I remember my father at that age. The legendary singer-songwriter said he felt “crushed” while making the critically acclaimed 2012 album Wrecking Ball but managed to keep his condition secret from his band members.

The 66-year-old rocker opened up to the magazine ahead of his biography “Born to Run” being released September 27.

There will be “a multitude” of promotional and in-store events to promote “Born to Run”, which comes out Tuesday, Sept., 27 from Simon & Schuster.

Born to Run explains how Doug Springsteen’s family had a plethora of undiagnosed mental illnesses including agoraphobia, hair-pulling disorders, and aunts who emitted inappropriate howling noises. “So in that regard, I think it’s great for him to write about depression”, she said.
