Libertarian VP hopeful Weld : Anyone can forget a word
Since the primaries ended on June 7, the networks’ focus has stayed on Trump, who received 705 minutes of coverage – much of it about various controversies – vs. 437 minutes for Clinton.

“I hope voters get to see former GOP Governors Gary Johnson and Bill Weld on the debate stages this fall”, Romney said.
Johnson’s 9-point-plus standing came through polls of registered voters, but in the coming weeks, numerous five network pollsters are switching to polls of likely voters, a smaller subset of the population among whom Johnson has thus far scored slightly worse.
“If we were on the top line tomorrow we’d be at 20 percent, minimum”, Johnson said.
On the question about the best way to deal with terrorist threats in the United States, Weld – a former U.S. Attorney for MA – said he would create a 1,000 member Federal Bureau of Investigation task force dedicated to tracking lone wolf killers.
To boost his profile, Johnson this week launched a $174,000 television ad buy in seven Western states, and New Hampshire, where the campaign has gained some traction.
In a recent poll 52 percent of respondents said that they would like Johnson to be included in the first debate on September 26, but that’s irrelevant.
According to a Washington Post-Survey Monkey 50 state poll released Tuesday, Johnson would reach or exceed the 15 percent threshold in 15 states.
The “Commission on Presidential Debates”-it sounds like a nonpartisan government commission, doesn’t it?” However, Weld said he would focus on pressuring the commission to honor its mission of educating voters.
In late July Johnson and Weld said they’d been talking with Romney and it seemed that he may be close to an endorsement – but apparently he’s still deciding whether he’d rather vote Libertarian or be the only person in America writing in Ann Romney’s name. “I’m going to make a lot of noise every day between now and November 8 on this whole constellation of issues”.
The glowing appraisal of Johnson’s candidacy by the Richmond Times-Dispatch’s editorial board contrasts the former New Mexico governor with Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic standard-bearer Hillary Clinton, both of whom lack the proper character traits to be president, the paper said.
