Later in the day, an aircraft spotted wreckage of the two planes on the ground near Russian Mission, she said.

The crash occurred around 11:00am local time (8:00pm CET) about96 km north of the city of Bethel, Alaska National Guard spokeswoman Candis Olmstead said in a statement.

There were no survivors on either plane, according to rescuers at the crash site, Alaska State Troopers say.

The National Guard dispatched a Blackhawk helicopter and two flight medics from Bethel around noon to the crash site.

Troopers say Wrase was flying a Ravn Alaska Cessna 208 Caravan from Russian Mission to the nearby village of Marshall.

Behavioral Health Aides are standing by across the region at YKHC clinics to speak with family and loved ones about the crash.
