Marvel’s Luke Cage isn’t going to hit Netflix until the end of the month (September 30, to be precise), but we are now starting to get the first few early reviews for the series. You can see it above in all of its bone-shattering glory.

And that excitement will only grow with the latest trailer, showing Luke – played brilliantly by Mike Colter – at his coolest as he does nothing but be himself to inflict some serious pain. This is unlike any other Marvel series, in the best possible way.

When Marvel’sLuke Cage first debuted in the comics in 1972, the New York City-based black superhero with super-strength and unbreakable skin was very much of his time. But soon he is pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

The cast also includes Mahershala Ali (as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes), Alfre Woodard (Mariah Dillard), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Theo Rossi (Shades), Frank Whaley (Rafael Scarfe) and Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple).
