Rand Paul Praises Trump for His ‘Foresight’ on Iraq
“What you didn’t hear from Donald Trump last night was any plan to take on IS”, Clinton said.

The “Commander in Chief Forum” on Wednesday night, at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in NY, with the two candidates fielding questions from Matt Lauer and from military veterans, came at a critical moment.
A forum created to test the leading presidential candidates’ capacity for military leadership Wednesday night displayed as much unpredictability as the rest of this election, as questions and answers veered off-topic and both candidates were put on the defensive several times. “We’re going to defeat ISIS without committing American ground troops”, she said.
“No, but when I do come up with a plan that I like and that perhaps agrees with mine, or maybe doesn’t, I may love what the generals come up with”, Trump responded.
And he criticized our military leaders.
Trump acknowledged that interview at a town hall on CNN in February, saying he “could have said that”. Earlier once, he had said he got them from TV shows.
Impersonating Russian President Vladimir Putin, Carvey said Lauer did a good job.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday morning after a NY forum on security featuring separate appearances by the two candidates, Ms Clinton said the businessman was “inappropriate and undisciplined” in discussing his briefings from United States officials.
This included Trump’s quote on nuclear weapons, in which he declared “the power, the devastation is very important to me”.
“I have said that my voting to give President Bush that authority was, from my perspective, my mistake”, she said. “I find it frustrating, but it’s part of the landscape we live in”.
Wednesday’s forum served as a preview of sorts for Clinton and Trump’s highly-anticipated presidential debates. She quickly faced a barrage of questions about her email use at the State Department, where she used a personal email address and a private server. While she may be referring to the 2011 military intervention specifically, the claim more broadly is not true. “I would certainly not do it again”, Clinton said.
In the NBC forum, Clinton argued that “rock steadiness” was required of the commander-in-chief, suggesting Trump did not possess that quality.
Clinton elaborated on those remarks at the Thursday press conference, saying putting a significant number of USA troops on the ground in Iraq and Syria would “fulfill one of (ISIS’) dearest wishes which is to drag the United States back into a ground war in that region”.
The Republican nominee also stood behind a 2013 tweet in which he raised the idea of separating men and women in the military to reduce sexual assaults. And for the first time, he opened the door to granting legal status to people living in the USA illegally who join the military.
“If he says great things about me, I’m going to say great things about him”, Trump said, but “it’s not going to get him anywhere”. “But that’s one of the weakest, least incisive performances I’ve seen from a presidential forum moderator”, tweeted Will Saletan, a writer at Slate. Hillary concluded her answer with a swipe at Donald Trump saying, “Donald Trump chose to talk about his deep admiration and support for Vladmir Putin”.
Trump’s comments come as the race for the Oval Office enters the home straight, with just 60 days until the country elects a new President.
Clinton and Trump are both very much disliked in America: Trump is the most historically disliked candidate, with Clinton as the second most historically disliked candidate. Tried to dispel voter doubts about his capacity to lead the armed forces.
Finally, Clinton was asked if she was being held to a different standard by the media and how that might impact her in the debates.
The Democratic presidential nominee spent nearly a third of her allotted half-hour explaining and apologizing for her use of a private email server while Secretary of State.
