Apple shares fell 2.63 per cent to Dollars 105.50 in early afternoon trades on the Nasdaq Exchange in NY.
Apple’s iPhone 7 wasn’t the only new hardware revealed by the company Wednesday.
Pricing for the iPhone 7 starts at $649 and pricing for the iPhone 7 Plus starts at $769.
Recent rumours suggest Apple will scrap the 3.5mm headphone port and instead insist people use Bluetooth to connect or be forced to buy an adaptor so they fit into the device’s Lightning port.
The new smartphones come with Apple seeking to reverse declines in sales of the iPhone in an increasingly saturated global market, and boost its Apple Watch.
Apple is also moving its focus to selling peripherals around the iPhone.
Rumours so far indicate the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will look identical to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, with a handful of new features – some controversial, others a little more mainstream.

“While expectation had been low heading into the event, excitement appears to be quickly growing and we believe this could be the most significant upgrade in the phone’s history”, the brokerage firm Stifel said in a note to investors onApple. Focusing on the iPhone experience, Apple has upgraded the smartphone camera system, battery life, speakers and display, and has added splash and water resistance.

Although it is true that HTC was first out of the gate between them and Apple when it comes to a dual-camera setup, it shouldn’t be forgotten that Apple’s implementation of it on the iPhone 7 Plus is a little bit different than what the HTC One M8 was capable of.
