Denver LB Brandon Marshall takes a knee during National Anthem
Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall is the latest NFL player to kneel during the USA national anthem in protest of the country’s oppression of minorities. Even NFL players – both former and current – are divided on Kaepernick’s choice of protest; former Jets and Bengals quarterback Boomer Esiason called Kaepernick “about as disrespectful as any athlete has ever been”. That prevented the Seattle midfielder from kneeling for a second consecutive match.

“We understand this may be seen as an extraordinary step”, the Spirit said, “but believe it was the best option to avoid taking focus away from the game on such an important night for our franchise”.
Kaepernick refused to stand for the anthem during San Francisco’s preseason games, explaining it was to protest racial oppression and police brutality in the United States.
“We have to choose respectful ways of doing that so that we can achieve the outcomes we ultimately want and do it with the values and ideals that make our country great”, said Goodell, whose late father, Charles, was a USA senator.
After the match, Rapinoe said she was saddened by the Spirit’s move. He told me to believe in my values and those types of things in life, and obviously I believe in our country and the national anthem very strongly.
“This guy, he is one of the biggest patriots out there, because he’s standing up for human rights”, the Jets receiver said.
US hockey coach John Tortorella says he’d bench any player who stays seated during the national anthem, while New York Jets receiver Brandon Marshall is defending Colin Kaepernick for his protest against racial injustice and minority oppression.
“When you look at it the American flag is bigger than just one thing”. “I think that the message was a little diluted because of how much respect a lot of us have for those who have served and done great things for us, and fought for our freedoms”. That’s Colin’s right and that’s all the other guys’ right.
Todd Bowles wouldn’t reveal on Monday who his right tackle is going to be in the season opener, but the team’s unofficial depth chart may have provided a clue.
The two backup tackles had been battling for the right tackle job with Breno Giacomini starting the season on the PUP list. He’s cut up, he’s ripped up.
“I totally disagree with what Boomer said last week”.

Marshall and Kaepernick were college teammates at Nevada, and Marshall was quick to support Kaepernick immediately after he first made news last month.
